Paul used to teach photography. Now he just enjoys it.

Paul and Cora Winters migrated west from Ohio to Summit County, Colorado just over 10 years ago and never looked back.  Well, almost never - Cora is still a die hard OSU fan, and has collected a list of friends who support that particular addiction.  Nevertheless, the Winters have done much more than just become familiar with Summit County.  They socialize with a variety of groups of people, primarily as Cora becomes involved with various organizations.  And Paul religiously brings along his camera - now cameras.  He takes photos like others breathe the air, and recently also started doing video.  As one of the early members of the <a style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold" href="http://snowhome.com/ssc/index.html" target="_blank">Summit Social Club</a>, Paul has regularly memorialized the Club's activities, from Christmas parties to restaurant socials to outdoor events.  He has become known for his slide shows, which he posts on the Club website for all members to see.  He has also created slide shows of the <a style="COLOR: rgb(0,0,0)" href="http://snowhome.com/ssc/AutumnInTheRockies.swf" target="_blank">changing of colors</a> in the fall, and recorded trips around the State in similar fashion.  You can click on any of the links at the Summit Social Club site to see the shows.  But recently, he has joined 775 other photographers to produce photos for a new coffee table book compiled by <a style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold" href="http://www.coloradomountainnewsmedia.com/" target="_blank">Mountain News Media</a> called Capture My Colorado.  Photos were submitted over the course of several months in various categories - sports, landscapes, wildlife, people, etc. - and then were voted on by anyone who wanted to contribute.  The book is available at the website of the <a style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold" href="http://www.capturemycolorado.com/about/book" target="_blank">Summit Daily News</a> for $39.95.  The book has 155 pages of the photos that got the most votes (over 17,000 submitted and, incredibly, nearly a million votes).  Paul has several photos included in the book and more included on the accompanying DVD that has all (or nearly all) the photos.  Even better, one of Paul's photos was chosen for one of the six covers - it is on the Grand County edition.  This, folks, is the mark of a former photography teacher (high school in Ohio) who now simply enjoys the medium.
