Can you see someone living in an outhouse-sized home in Breckenridge?

There seems to be a new trend on the horizon. It's happening in resorts, vacation spots and in the wildernest around the country. It's sparked in part by a interest in conservations, in a sense that second homes that dwarf primary homes is a waste of resources. But, it's also being promulgated by people who move to the outdoors to enjoy the outdoors.

They tend to believe that living in the mountains and spending most of your time in your home is a waste. They feel that living in tiny abodes makes the outdoors seem evern bigger, and they'd rather spend their quality time among the wildlife and vegetation, anyway.

The New York Times is even getting in on the act with a great article and slide show. But, I don't know about Summit County, where trophy homes are the norm, where the Three Peaks Subdivision in Silverthorne is now setting the standard in the County for luxury homes. It's difficult to build anything in the County now for less than a million dollars, and of course, most all subdivisions have minimum square foot standards. So, regardless of the movement, you'll find little asceticism here. Come here for the luxury and stay for the comfort.
