New access to Peaks 7 and 8 starts downtown

$17 million? Yep, and it's just a drop in the, er, gondola. Locals have been anticipating this for a few years. Shock Hill pricing has been built largely on the rumors that it would stop there. And now it's here. Well, its been okayed. And that's almost here, right? Completion is estimated for Christmas.

When finished, it will carry up to 3,000 people with boards and skis PER HOUR right from the free skier parking lots in Town. There will be drop off/get on stations at Shock Hill (just a bit up Ski Hill Road) and the Peak 7 base area (yet to be built), and will continue to the Peak 8 terminal. You will travel the nearly 8,000 feet in 7.5 minutes in one of 143 cabins, over 25 towers and gain almost 400 feet in the process.

Life just got easier. No more the parking, getting on the bus, and shuttling to the slopes. Your time from your home to the slopes has been shortened, so that you can enjoy more of that recreation and relaxation you came here for. Well, relaxation if you count shushing down improved and expanded slopes in Breckenridge.

So, let's see what Copper Mountain comes up with to match this. For now, see a map and get more details here.

__________________________________________

Want to buy or sell a SnowHome in Summit County?
