Alpenglow and Summit Public Radio team up for a night of music.

Even if you're not a classical music afficionado, you would have loved this music. It was made all the more personal by master of ceremony Charlie Samson, who came to the mountain from Denver, where he is music director of KVOD Radio.

The Alpenglow Music Festival teamed with Summit Public Radio to bring this evening of chamber music to the masses of Summit County. This was a great collaboration of two great organizations, a great classical music host, the Silverthorne Pavilion, and five young but very experienced musicians. Headed by cellist and artistic director, Edward Arron, this group delivers. There were a couple of subsitutions this year, but generally, the same five return each year, having started this event when they were still students. Now, they play around the world with some of the greatest orchestras on the planet. But here, in an intimate setting, they play from their hearts directly to the hearts of a few.

And Charlie brought down to earth common sense to the proceedings, regaling the audience with events in the lives of the composers, from their daily dalliances to their, um, indelicate use of chamber pots. Of course, they were real people, just like you and I, just a bit more skilled in what they do.

We are so lucky in Summit County, to have incredible talent, either in the form of people who live here, or in those who just love to visit - and do while here what they do best. Some of the top names in music, art, theatre and other cultural pursuits have performed for us. And they will continue to come. So, when you plan your visit, ask us what is going on. We'll make sure you have a wonderful time.

If you have an interest in purchasing property in Summit County, please visit our website. All the property listings are there. When you live or visit here, you will know "Snow Place Like Home".
