| January 03, 2005 | | A new CEO and a new membership director have brought new life to a struggling Chamber. | | Membership in the Summit County Chamber of Commerce has been declining. Perhaps a lack of funds, perhaps some lack of direction, but nevertheless, local businesses have been deciding that keeping their membership adds no real value to their business. So, this summer, a new CEO was hired by the board, a fresh face from Minnesota. Constance Jones has already brought some "constancy" to the organization. Her extensive work history and similar experience in Minnesota has prepared her for this new challenge. And she certainly seems to be up to it. In a few brief months, she has increased membership, created a passive income stream, excited a lot of the current members, and brought back some of the former ones. Recently, she and the board announced their appointments for new board members. I am proud to be one of the appointees. I'm in good company. | |
