Hello All,

Last week Arapahoe Basin, Summit County's locals choice for skiing, felt a touch like Hollywood.  Ann Lukas owns Blue River Productions and is the locations manager for the Warner Bros. flick "The Bucket List" staring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.  She filmed an "Everest"  scene on the slopes of our smallest but most extreme ski hill (we have 5, yes, I'm bragging).  Look for the climbing scenes in the beginning and end of the movie; "The Broken Line" is due out on November.   According to an article in the Summit Daily News, our local paper, the filming took four days.  Stunt double and local Summit County attorney Mark Thompson wore a one-piece 8,000 meter suit and oxygen mask for the shoot.  Big scene filmers can lay images of the Himalayas in the background but they can not fake the light, frost and shadows of the alpine environment.  Most of the lifts at A-Basin can quickly bring you above treeline making this an easily accessed filming venue.  Read more here.
