International Snow Sculpture Event in Breckenridge, Colorado A Crowd Pleaser for Both Tourists and Locals

Summit County hosts snow sculpture event for 17th year.

Whether you are a visitor to Summit County or a long-time local, if you haven’t checked out the International Snow Sculpture event in Breckenridge before, you should this year!  Several teams from all over the world gather in our Colorado mountain community to showcase their impressive art form.  The event starts Tuesday, January 23rd and the sculptures formed out of 20-ton snow blocks will be displayed through February 4th.  Judges rank the sculptures, but visitors can weigh in on the People’s Choice awards.  The event relies heavily on more than 1,000 volunteers and the Breckenridge Ski Resort and Town of Breckenridge partner to provide the man-made snow blocks.  Click here to read the 1/18/07 Summit Daily News article, or click here to learn even more about the event.
