| July 28, 2005 | | What does the future really hold? | The predictions were wild, the numbers staggering. The Northwest Colorado Council of Governments (NWCCOG) sponsored a day-long interchange between leaders in communities ranging from Aspen to Winter Park, with Steamboat and Summit County and others. Mayors, county commissioners, planners, engineers and future seers all gathered to take a look at what we might be seeing in the future. 8 LANES FOR I-70!!! Yeah, well, it helped keep everyone awake, but also placed emphasis on what could happen if we don't all pay attention and plan accordingly. The facilitators from NWCCOG placed these emblazened predictions at strategic points during the conference. They did get attention. Short story. We are growing. We will have problems. They can be managed. If we all work together. GAS PRICES HIT $10 a GALLON!! DILLON RESERVOIR DRAINED, INFILL BEGINS. And we're still skiing. If you have an interest in purchasing property in Summit County, please visit our website. All the property listings are there. When you live or visit here, you will know "Snow Place Like Home". | |
