| June 23, 2005 | | Construction on the new recreation path will start soon | Every rode your bicycle over Swan Mountain Road? Dodging cars? Cussing at near misses? Not to mention the dogged climb? Well, here is some good news. The recreation path planned to connect Highway 6 near Keystone to Highway 9 halfway between Frisco and Breckenridge will start construction this summer. Of course, it won't be completed - only the first phase out of four is planned - but it will be a great start. The 1.5 mile section will start in Summit Cove and climb over a bench to a point near Lowry Campground. This should eliminate some of the elevation gain along with the traffic problems for that section. And all of us can travel safer. | |
