After living in beautiful Summit County for over 5 years, I decided to try cross country skiing for the first time. I went with a friend of mine, also a beginner. It was a beautiful, blue sky Colorado day and our trail of choice was Boreas Pass in Breckenridge.
It wasn't long before we got a glimpse of our first great view. Through the trees we saw the Breckenridge Ski Area.
We took it slow, stopping along the way to take pictures. Before we knew it we were approaching Bakers Tank, a perfect spot to turn around. We had gone approximately 3 and a half miles!
A little historical info.....
We were lucky enough to meet some other "winter enthusiasts" at the Tank and they took a picture for us!
All in all, I'd say our day of cross-country skiing was a success! I would suggest going LESS than 7 miles round trip for a first timer though. I certainly appreciated some ibuprofen that night......and the next day. :-)
