Summit County Colorado is home to many easy and beautiful trails; one in particular the well-ravelled Oro Grande trail. The trail starts in Dillon and heads across an old jeep road in and out of the trees with views of Lake Dillon and the two mountain ranges, the Ten Mile Range an the Gore Range. This series of photos was taken as a storm which had just blanketed the mountains with a few inches was just clearing out.

We brought along a few furry companions and I recommend the company. The trail is good for snowshoes as well as skis but may be trying in the winter with just pack boots. We chose to do an"out and back" but the trail eventually meets a tunnel and you can return via the paved bike path along the lake.
