Crowds gawked as 16 teams from 9 countries shaped massive 20 ton blocks of snow into a managerie of forms. The entry above is from the Netherlands Team and was titled "Calla Lilies" and although it did not win an award, it recieved a lot of positive attention by those who walked by it. The winning entry came from China and was titled "The Warrior and the Moon" and featured a traditional Mongolian Warrior on horseback.
Second place went to Team Canada (Yukon). This piece is a shaman inside a swirling globe of swan wings and feathers.
And Third Place went to Germany for "Bridge of Tolerance." This was set up to resresent two different cultures and people coming together in an atmosphere of tolerance. Unfortunatley, the structure has not survived the week and crashed into pieces soon after the judging.
This year a team from Breckenridge assembled the following sculpture.
And the rest....
