| May 04, 2007 | | Town of Breckenridge goes green with addition to its bus fleet. | The hybrid bus, coming soon to Breckenridge, will run on electric power up to 17 mph and then switch over to diesel on speeds above that. Given the route the buses run, it is expected that it will run on electric the majority of the time. The town is confident the high-tech vehicle will save on gas, cut emissions, and run quieter and smoother than conventional buses. The town hopes to eventually have four such hybrids in its fleet.
