Where Real estate Buyers come from; where they start their home search

Sources of where buyers first learned about property

According to the National Association of Realtors, buyers first learned about the home they purchased through the following sources:

41% through a Real Estate Broker

16% via a Yard Sign

11% Internet

11% Other

7% Friend or relative

7% Newspaper or Magazine

7% Builders

However, 71% of all home buyers used the Internet during their home search ( up from 41% in 2001), but only 11% first learned about the home they purchased on the Internet.

90% of Internet searchers used a real estate broker to assist them in their transaction.

47% of buyers and 62% of sellers responded that reputation was the most important factor in choosing a broker.
