Horse ranch interference

Debate over the use of 50 acres in Silverthorne

Well, we have a developer who has a 50-acre tract in Silverthorne under contract.  He wants to build affordable housing on the whole lot.  Then there is another party - not a developer - who wants to make the entire 50 acres a horse ranch to use formerly abused and neglected animals as educational and therapeutic tools for youth.  Both are admirable uses of the Smith Ranch

However, we desperately need affordable housing, and the land on which that can be built is quickly going away.  We are only 7 years away from build-out in the County.

Unfortunately, whenever there are opposing forces with money, you can bet that any development plans will be held up in court for a long time.  Stay tuned.
