My pledge to Silverthorne citizens

So, I promised a list, and it follows.  The Summit Daily covered the candidates in brief summary today, so you can sort of compare me to my opponents (OK, fellow runners).  But, here is my platform. 

Qualifications: 

·         12-year resident County, 10 years in Town

·         Small business owner - real estate brokerage

·         The only Certified EcoBroker office in the County – energy conservation in home building is has gained much greater importance.

·         Author of two books, one for homebuyers, and one for sellers

·         Past President of Summit Association of Realtors

·         Member, Grievance Committee of the Colorado Association of Realtors

·         On boards of Summit Public Radio & National Association of Energy and Environmental Real Estate Professionals

·         Vice President of  Summit Chamber – 2005

I Believe:

·         Government should represent the people.  You should be heard.  

·         We must pay more attention to pine beetle kill and noxious weeds. 

·         All of us should be able to afford to live here.  Affordable housing is vital to a vibrant society and employed work force.

·         That Silverthorne needs a daycare facility.  We are the only town in the County without one, and we have lots of working moms. 

·         We should support intergovernmental agreements between our municipalities, the school board and our County Commissioners, as well as with our resort and business communities.  We should foster cooperation for recreation, economic sustainability, affordable housing, and even revenue sharing).
